Puzzle - Bitplay

Play with time – or at least, play with your alarm clock. Puzzle makes it fun to set your alarm by letting you manipulate the numbers yourself. It is an elegant wooden box, with a front face that has four digits that are flush against the face. You physically arrange the strokes of the digital numbers in order to set the time on your alarm. When it is correctly set, the alarm icon lights up in the corner of the face.

TikTikTik - Bitplay

 

TikTikTik is the perfect light for reading or even just cuddling a bit before bed—or for people who otherwise forget to turn off the light! Pulling down on TikTikTik’s pull chain sets the length of time the light is on. The further you pull the chain, the longer the lamp stays on. The lamp pull retracts silently until a few minutes before the timer runs out. The light dims and then turns off.

BANG! - Bitplay

BANG! is a desk lamp with a gun-shaped remote controller. User can fire the “gun” to turn the light off. The light goes out and the lampshade knocks to the side, showing that it’s been hit. To turn it back on, simply shot it again, and the lampshade will raise up slowly and turn the light back on at the same time.

Dacha's Origami - Peter Kostelov

This all-white summer house outside Moscow by architect Peter Kostelov has sunbeds and a see-saw but no windows or doors. 
The house was designed for a Russian TV programme in which the clients and the architect meet only once to exchange ideas before the architect takes the project through to completion.
The clients were an active family who wanted their dacha, or summer house, to be a place for sport and exercise as well as sunbathing, barbecues and parties.
The only requirement from the parents was that the architect didn’t add a basketball court, so this gave Kostelove “complete freedom for fantasy and creativity,” he said.
Kostelov designed a building that’s open to the elements, with rolled-up blinds fitted into the wall openings to provide shelter when needed.
The built-in sunbeds are positioned alongside a small sunken bathing area at one end of the house.
A small cubicle with a bucket of water suspended above it allows residents to cool off after a session in the sauna room next door.

Passing Cloud - Tiago Barros

This project envisions a distinct approach towards moving around the United States being also a revival of the act of traveling. Why traveling at high speed? Why having the final destiny always defined? And why always departing and arriving on a tight schedule? Nowadays, everything is set and everyone is always running around. It is time to reconsider the act of traveling and start enjoying it accordingly.

The Passing Cloud is an innovative and environmentally friendly method of transportation that doesn’t require expensive steel tracks or concrete highways. It is made of a series of spherical balloons that form the shape of a cloud. Its inner stainless steel structure is covered with heavy weight tensile nylon fabric. During the journey, It moves according to prevailing winds speed and direction at the time of travel. Since it moves with the wind, no wind is ever felt during the trip, offering the passengers a full “floating sensation”.

It’s an unique journey. The feeling of floating in the atmosphere – on top of a cloud – with an open schedule and unknown final destiny. All National Ground would be potentially covered at virtually no cost and the help of the wind. The journey becomes your destiny.

IKEA – HOMEMADE IS BEST

We wanted to ensure a connection between IKEA's kitchen appliances and one of the best things you can do in a kitchen, some great baking. So the main attraction in the campaign became a 140 page coffee-table baking book presented in a very visually unique and spectacular way.
90% of all the photographs taken in baking books look extremly alike. We wanted to try something different and present the recipes in a totally new fashion.

We let ourselves be inspired by high fashion and japanese minimalism. The idea of the book became to tone down the actual cake and put the ingredients in focus. The recipes are presented as graphic still-life portraits on a warm and colourful stage. And when you turn the page you see the fantastic result.

The baking book contains 30 classic swedish baking recipes everything from small biscuits to large cakes.

PostCarden, MatchCarden - Another Studio For Design

Thanks for visting our us. We are Another Studio for Design, an independent London based company who are enthusiastic about creating charming products that respond to you and your environment. We like to think of them as ‘gifts for thoughtful givers’.

For our first product we looked at the most universal gift - the greeting card. We felt that this conventional card lacked surprise, bringing only a momentary enjoyment. The arrival of a greeting card or letter in the post can always brighten up your normal mail and bring pleasure but once opened its role becomes commonplace and static.

Our response was PostCarden - a pop up postcard. It can be sent easily in the post with room to write a personal greeting.
